Good point. I notice that when I work in a clean and orderly environment, I can think better. If I’m working in my room and my room is trashed, I can’t get anything done.

I agree about the stimulating environment. You feel less isolated from the outside world, and it makes you feel somewhat like you are “going to work.” I don’t have a laptop now, unfortunately, so I haven’t been able to do this in a while.

I agree that being in an interactive environment does help my mind focus more on coming up with new ideas, especially when my mind doesn’t really want to be interactive. If I’m having a brain freeze on ideas, seeing lots of things happen around me helps me get out of that zone and back into design.

I’ve visited design agencies where they do a great deal on creating a great interactive environment, but one agency would have that theme throughout and the other would only have it for the visitor center. Designers need to be in a great environment also, if not more!

I as a designer appreciate being around something not of the ordinary while working on something of the new! Thanks for sharing with us what helps you focus.
